The Josef Lederer winery, located in the southern part of the western Weinviertel on the border of the Weinviertel and Wagram wine-growing regions, offers a rich history and exquisite wines. Situated directly on the edge of the Wagram, the winery is located in the cadastral municipality of Starnwörth, part of the larger municipality of Stetteldorf am Wagram.
Stetteldorf is also home to the historic Juliusburg Castle, which played an important role more than 300 years ago during the Turkish siege. It was the meeting place for the army leaders who planned and carried out the liberation of Vienna under the leadership of King Sobieski of Poland and Duke Charles of Lorraine. It is assumed that Stetteldorf wine, which was in its heyday at this time, played a significant role in strengthening the liberators. In the first basement of the winery there is a sales room where the ready-labeled bottles await their buyers in an ideal environment. A visit to the wine cellar offers the opportunity to taste the wines and buy your own.
