The Danube Region in Lower Austria recently got a series of very well developed hiking trails. It does not matter if you like it leisurely or more advanced, the new trail, offers routes for everybody.
The Nibelungengau trail connects the Upper Austrian Danubetrack in the West with the Welterbsteig Wachau in the East. Hiking along the Danube from Passau to Krems is an attractive challenge for passionate hikers.
With a lenght of 110 km the trail runs north and south along the Danube. It offers great views walking along beautiful landscapes and historic places. The eight different tours are between 10 and 22 km long.
For hikers with more time left, there are different round trips around the movement arena Nibelungengau to be tested. They are great for tours with the family or as well for running and nordic walking.
