Explanation
Along the Danube, across picturesque floodplain landscapes, orchards and vineyards: The hiking stage from Hollenburg to Gedersdorf enchants with a romantic flair.
The hike from Hollenburg to Gedersdorf initially runs directly along the Danube. The special ambience created by the river during the first kilometres of the stage is, at best, surpassed by the floodplain landscape that follows. The wildly romantic route continues through the idyllic Au to the village of Tisza; then across fields and orchards to Brunn im Felde. Shortly afterwards, the stage destination in Gedersdorf is reached. Heurige invite you to enjoy regional delicacies here. The well-deserved snack tastes even better with a fantastic view of the wine terraces sloping down to the Danube.
Make the most of your hike with culinary delights. In the Kremstal, the Heurigen culture has a great tradition and you can enjoy regional delicacies in a glass and on a plate. The Kremstal DAC stands for spicy Grüner Veltliner and elegant, mineral Rieslings. You can find out when and where it is set out in the Heurigen calender!

Nearest stations: Krems on the Danube, Traismauer, then by bus to Hollenburg (from Krems station, take the bus in the direction of Wien-Hütteldorf or the direction of Traismauer, from Traismauer station, take the bus in the direction of Krems. Line 446 Sieghartskirchen - Traismauer - Krems/Danube
From Vienna:
Follow A22, take S5 to junction Traismauer Nord/B43 in Lower Austria, take S33 exit Traismauer-Nord
from the West:
Take the A1 to the Traismauer Nord/B43 junction in Lower Austria, then take the S33 exit 22-Traismauer-Nord.
