Its history begins in the 13th c and is far from being thoroughly researched. Its rooms from the 13th c are unique and boast the oldest secular frescoes in Austria.
These unique frescos require special conservation efforts and tours of them are limited and restricted to small parties of no more than 20.

Die Besichtigung der Gozzoburg ist ausschließlich im Rahmen von Führungen möglich.
Führungen finden von Mitte März bis Mitte November jeden Samstag, Sonn- und Feiertag um 14:00 Uhr statt. Eine vorherige Anmeldung ist nicht nötig. Treffpunkt für die Führungen ist an der Kasse des museumkrems (Körnermarkt 14, 3500 Krems), hier erhalten Sie auch Ihr Ticket.
Die Gozzoburg (Hoher Markt 11, 3500 Krems) liegt etwa 750 Meter vom museumkrems entfernt.
