The Sitzenberg Castle Pond in Sitzenberg-Reidling in the district of Tulln is a popular destination for locals and guests. The 12-hectare area with one large and two smaller ponds has a high fish occurrence. The pond is fed by several tributaries from the region. The idyllic water body has been owned by the municipality since 1972.
Around the pond leads the carp nature trail, which was created in 2003 and 2004 by students of the HBLA Sitzenberg. In about 45 minutes it leads as an easy circular walk over the children's playground, through the forest and past the tennis courts. Educational panels tell all about carp and pond management - and also entertain with quizzes for children.
