Vienna and Bratislava are closer together than any other two European capitals. Just 60 km separates the two cities. The Twin City Liner has brought the two even closer, traveling from city center to city center. From Schwedenplatz in Vienna, it first travels for 12 km along the Danube Canal, bypassing the only lock between Vienna and Bratislava (Danube/Freudenau). It then travels 50 km on the Danube at a speed of 32.5 knots or 60 km/h before landing directly in the historical center of Bratislava.
Bicycles are transported free of charge on the Twin City Liner throughout the entire season. There is space for 12 bicycles. Advance reservations are required.
