The “Alchemistenpark” permaculture site in Kirchberg am Wagram was created in 2007 and now contains around 200 species. As many annual and perennial fruit species as possible that thrive in this climate area, all edible nut species, as well as vegetables and spices that grow on shrubs or trees, can be found in this edible landscape. In addition to well-known fruits such as cherries and apricots, you can also discover rare or old fruit varieties as well as plants that are still largely unknown.
Blueberry bushes, Indian bananas, mayberries, red-fleshed peaches and mulberries invite you to make sensory discoveries all year round. A children's playground with a natural design is also integrated. The site is a cooperation between Permakultur Austria, the market town of Kirchberg am Wagram and the “Nature in the Garden” campaign of the federal state of Lower Austria.
